Elaine Castillo is Filipina American and an American author known for writing America is Not the Heart. Her book was praised for bringing attention to the working-class immigrants in the Bay area of California. She graduated from University of California, Berkely. She moved to London in 2009 and received a MA in Creative and Life Writing from Goldsmiths, University of London.
