Cyber Security

What is Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity refers to protecting your devices, programs, data, and network from attacks. Devices that are not properly protected are the easiest to attack. The first step in protecting your devices and data is recognizing attack methods and knowing how to protect your devices.

K=Know

You should always start off by knowing what is important about something. For instance you should know that it’s important to use a secure and specific password because you don’t want someone to be able to guess it.

I=Identify

Identifying how you are involved is the next step. For example, you are involved in how safe your information is because you can take steps to protect it.

D=Do

Now that you know why your issue is important and you have identified how you are involved, it’s time to get to work and take those steps so you can stay safe! For a password, you might try things such as using a different password for different accounts, avoiding creating passwords that include your personal information, and using numbers, letters, and symbols to make it harder to guess.
